BetterAudio is an advanced audio management tool for macOS that puts complete control over your sound environment directly in the menu bar. Switch between input and output devices with a single click, adjust volume with precision using customizable HUD notifications, and manage media playback without disrupting your workflow.

Added Dictation feature using local Parakeet AI models.
Added automatic restoration of the selected input device when the system changes it (e.g., after connecting headphones).
Custom Dictation HUD position works the same as Mute HUD.
Added Compact mode for the Now Playing section.
Added “Show in Dock” option, which allows you to hide the application icon in the Dock.
Replaced the “Menubar” tab with the “General” tab.
Moved all application permission management to the “General” tab.
Updated the main application icon.
Improved responsiveness of the Now Playing interface in the menu bar.
Fixed a bug where playback refreshed every 2 seconds instead of every 1 second.
In fullscreen mode, every HUD on macOS 26.2+ appears in the center.
Changed the order of tabs in the settings.
